Senior Pennants Round 2

Published on 22nd April 2021 in Uncategorized

Our Senior Pennant Teams had another 4 away games, with some improved results. No wins however two teams managed to square their matches.

The Black team went down 3.5/1.5, against Mosman Park,  with Rob Duffy and Bryan Drake managing a 4 and 3 win and Stan Briggs and Michael Whitaker squared their match.

John Drummond’s Blue Team lost 4.5 to 0.5 to Cottesloe, however all their matches were close and could have gone either way. Doug Munyard and Tony Lawrence eked out a creditable draw.

The remaining teams, Green and Red both drew their matches, which is a great result playing away. In fact with a little luck both teams could have had wins.

For the Green team Wayne Ovenden and Doug Bateson had a very good 3and 2 win , and Peter Lock and Trevor Freeman won 1 up. Graeme Lightfoot and Roger Knight  went to the 18th one up, but had their hopes of a win dashed went the opposition player sank a monster putt to win the final hole thus squaring the match. Still a fantastic performance by Ewan’s team.

With Captain Phil still unavailable , the Red teams performance at Chequers was great in achieving a draw.

Stand in Captain, Graham Parry and partner Terry Curtis had a 1 up win as did Stan Chait and Gary Hampson. Stan’s and Gary’s performance meritorious given they had to give 21 shots. Ray Barret and Dion Bromilow squared their match.

Next week we have a break due to Anzac Day, before all teams play their final away games before a run of 3 home games.
