ETIQUETTE – Please be reminded to always be considerate of other groups and be aware of their surroundings.

VARIOUS COMPLEX SUGGESTIONS – We have received a few suggestions that are very complex and are related to regulatory requirements and golf etiquette etc.  We will always endeavour to highlight these by the way of Signage, Newsletter, Website etc. For these complex suggestions we would be able to deal with it directly if you are able to leave your name and number.

COURSE NOTICES/SIGNAGE/MEMBERS NOT CHECKING INTO PRO SHOP – The Pro Shop has signage and we always try to advise Members of any changes etc immediately on the website and in the weekly Newsletter. Please always check into the Pro Shop before teeing off.

BUNKER RAKES: All bunkers being addressed during redevelopment.

FOOD – A COMPLIMENT. Thanks so much. “Keep the bangers n mash on the menu all the time. if you have not tried it YOU’RE missing out”.

CHAMPIONSHIPS – We have in excess of 800 men members eligible to play. Too many men for a draw to be run. There are members who wish to play early morning/mid morning and afternoon. The weekends are blocked off for the club champs so men who work can participate. These are in the fixture book well in advance to allow people to make other arrangements. Sunday afternoon Junior champs also on.

CHAMPS ROUND 2 – Managed to get the morning and afternoon fields through OK.

GOLF THIS SATURDAY DURING CLUB CHAMPS – Sorry no spots now available.

COFFEE STATION – Ordered more peppermint tea.

HEATER FOR OUR BARISTA – Currently looking into options for that area.

GREEN SPEED – Stimp meter irrelevant, reading is always different at start of day to the end of day.

SOFTEN UP FAIRWAYS – Unfortunately we don’t have much water left. It is the eucalyptus trees on the edges that are not only making the fairways dry but stopping them from growing properly. The environmental plan will improve this once we commence.

DRIVING RANGE FLAGS – The Driving Range is being reviewed. A project plan is being put together and will be addressed in due course.

TV IN CLUBHOUSE – Football available.

9 HOLE MEMBERS WHO CAN PLAY 18 HOLE COMPS – Not available at this stage.

FAIRWAY BUNKERS ON THE 14TH FAIRWAY – Architect may review his designs on request and make changes if necessary.

Guests pay more for Lakelands Open – We are consistent with other Metropolitan Clubs.

STROKE ROUNDS – The black tees are reserved for Major Events and Monthly Mug on Saturday’s only. It also has an impact on the wearing of tees.

SATURDAY PAY FOR PLAY 6 DAY MEMBERS – If Saturday spaces still available 2 days prior, 6 Day Members can contact the Pro Shop and book in for comp. $50 + comp fee applicable.

SEATING AROUND COURSE – Greens staff looking into and already relocated some.

HOT WEATHER – Dress Code still applies.

YARDAGE MARKERS ON HOLE 12/SPRINKLER HEADS – Sprinklers will be trimmed next week to make them easier to see, rest of the distances will be done as time allows.

NEW MEMBER WINNERS – All new Members follow the correct procedure in obtaining a Golf Australia Handicap. For any Member who needs more clarification on how this works, please contact us directly.

BUNKERS/RAKES- ONGOING SITUATION – Captain discussed in Newsletter 30/3/17. Difficult to rake Bunkers on a Saturday am before comp. Normally done early Friday. Please look after Bunkers so that they are still good for Saturday Comps.

BALL WASHERS ON 1ST & 10TH TEES – Ball washers are being renovated very soon. New brushes, power coated and getting new drinking nozzles for fountains.

CLUB CHAMPS FORMAT – Waiting for results of survey.

9 HOLE GOLF COMPS ON FRIDAY – Still looking into and gathering all 9 Hole Comp info.

STROKE & PAR COMPS – Black tee’s are for stroke events only as per Match Policy.

BLACK SOCKS WITH SHORTS – Awaiting Board approval.

SUMMER CUP/SUMMER BOWL – Open for 6 & 7 day Members, will only open for others if can’t fill and the fee charged accordingly.

MONTHLY PRIZE DRAW – As per Terms and Conditions, each Member is eligible for every prize, as each prize is a new draw.

9 HOLE MEMBERS HANDICAPS & COMPETITIONS – Looking into 9 Hole Competitions at present but if wish to play 18 Holes need to change membership.

MISSING OUT ON SUNDAY GOLF – The six day membership fee allows for Sunday’s lost. Whenever this happens we always try to organize reciprocal rights with other clubs as they are often in the same situation.

WATER TAP ON 1ST TEE – In the process of looking into this.

7.45 AM SHOTGUN START – This was a one off.

DROP ZONES ON 5 & 12 – The signs will be removed and the Drop Zones will not be remarked. The rules for the new planted turf is on the temp rules board.

WHITE TEES FOR OVER 70’S – At Lakelands sometime ago, we introduced a rule to allow members, 70 years of age and over with a GA handicap of 27 and above, to play off the yellow tees during competitions. This is still current. As for the procedure please be guided by the Pro Shop.

BUNKER ENTRY & EXITS – During the redevelopment of the course all bunkers will be addressed and suitable walk ins will be provided.

ECLECTIC – These results have all been rechecked and correct.

WHITE TEES – The blue and black tees are used to spread the wear on the tee boxes and provide variety to the game.  The white tees are generally used for social players and rarely for competition.

CHECKING YOUR BALL – A reminder to mark your ball.

SIX DAY MEMBER – A reminder that six day members are not permitted to play on saturday.

ECLECTIC SCORES – Eclectic and Order of Merit results will be announced on Friday 23rd December presentations before the prize draw.

12th GREEN – Should be back in play before the New Year.

SUNDAY PLAY – Discussed at Match Meeting, Juniors now placed at the back of field and PeeWees at 3.30 pm.

CLUBHOUSE – Not yet been decided where Clubhouse will be situated.  All avenues being looked at including current site and other options.

BLACK BOYS – Greens are aware that these can be burnt back in early summer. Fire Permits are required for this which can be quite difficult to obtain. 

SPEED OF PLAY – Being monitored and will continue to do so as stats indicate no real problem than the occasional slow play. Greens – speed varies.

FRIDAY COMP – Members not playing in comp should be off white tees, Pro Shop will ensure this happens.

FRIDAY GOLF – Players not playing in friday comp will not hit off 10th tee as single tee off required for the Green Staff to work on course. Social players are not the issue where slow play is.

MORE SUNDAY FOURSOMES – This has been noted regarding too many sunday foursomes and will not happen in the fixtures next year.

BUNKER 13TH GREEN – Will be done as part of master plan.

PRIZE DRAW – Don’t need to be present to win, but additional prize if in attendance.

BUNKER RAKES – Match and Board have been presented with a solution and currently a prototype is being made to trial.

ICE MACHINE – Ice is provided in the walk way behind the Pro Shop during summer months.

SMOKE FREE VERANDAH – Looking into Smoke Policy.

SPEED UP GREENS – Pace of greens vary season to season and ours are some of the fastest in State.

FOOD – Have trialed sausage sizzle on sunday mornings and unfortunately not supported.  Food available at Coffee Station and Breakfast at Kitchen.

BUILD ANOTHER SHED – Construction etc to be included in new plan.

PHOTOS ON WEBSITE – All of the photos on our website have been taken around the course here at Lakelands. We have only one picture of a membership promotion that is not of actual members offering no joining fee which ends 31st December 2016.

COURSE & SURROUNDS CONDITION – Greens Staff and Volunteers are regularly cleaning up and trimming back.  Due to the current renovations, very busy and a little behind.  Due to various planting over the years it will take time to address all issues.
